jenny dodd - ceo at Tastafe


As CEO of TasTAFE, Jenny leads the TasTAFE team to develop job ready graduates so that Tasmania has the skilled workforce it needs now and for the future. With significant growth in the Tasmanian economy and with 23,000 enrolments per annum, TasTAFE is responding to demand by Tasmanian businesses for qualified and well-trained staff. Jenny joined TasTAFE in February 2018 and since then she has responded to an extensive program that has resulted in corporate and education quality renewal, the establishment of Centres of Excellence, and a TAFE that places students and industry at its centre.

john fitzgerald - CEO at tourism tasmania

John is chief executive officer of Tourism Tasmania, joining the organisation in January 2013. Since that time, John has led a team that has contributed to Tasmania becoming a leading destination brand in Australia and beyond. Prior to joining Tourism Tasmania, John has had an extensive career in senior executive positions in the tourism sector in Australia, over 20 years. John’s contribution in the sector has extended to numerous board memberships and directorships including currently as chair of the T21 Steering Committee, overseeing Tasmania’s visitor economy strategy implementation and also as a director of Business Events Tasmania. John is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

DEBBIE EVANS - CEO AT LIFELINE

Debbie Evans is the CEO of Lifeline Tasmania, a Registered Psychologist, Accredited Counsellor and a Fellow of the AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors).

Debbie has worked in Senior Management roles for over 25 years in the Community Sector and has been Chair of the TasCOSS Board, the Mental health Council of Tasmania Board and is currently Chair of Dress for Success in Hobart. Debbie has a strong commitment to social justice and to ensuring that all Tasmanians have the opportunity to live full and productive lives and have strong mental health and wellbeing.

Tim Bullard - Secretary of the Department of Education

Tim has worked for government, both in Tasmania and overseas, since 1996.  In 2004 he joined the Department of Premier and Cabinet where he worked in a variety of policy roles before joining the Department of Education as Deputy Secretary Strategy and Performance in 2016.  In 2017 he was appointed as Secretary of the Department.

In addition to our special guests, we will have some experts in the audience such as Michael Fawcett (Manager of Ambulance Tasmania's State Operations Centre), who will put the spotlight on tactical leadership and Helen Rees (Director at Frameworks for Change) who will actively listen and respond to the discussion through an adaptive leadership framework.
